Miah for the win. I have some mechanical experience as well (That old Duster I drive wasn't roadworthy when I got it, and seen an almost total rebuild) and would be more than willing to help. With my Duster fixed mechanically, I'm running out of mechanical things to do.Proud owner of a Springfield XD 45ACP.

Miah, although I am completely unkrafty when it comes to all things mechanical, I am a good test subject! Lower me down!-Stuart Burgess

I was headed west on I-80 past the Salt Lake Marina and passed this winch heading west at 70 mph! Ok, It was attached to the back of a big white Dodge pick up truck. Looks to be right off the showroom floor! It was also hydraulic drive. Thought perhaps it might give you guys some ideas... This one appears to have a light bar and alternator. The light bar is down by the engine for transporting.

Actually, its a ford, but hilarious that you saw it! Showroom floor would be Miah's shop. Over a hundred man hours went into rebuilding that. Mostly thanks to Miah! Its 100% custom built. You'll all be seeing it in action very shortly.Comment

Sweet!! Kudos to Miah (and others) who did a great job on it. It will be interesting to see photos and an action report from it's first outings. Are you going to use a static weight that approximates a human weight for the first unspool and rewind? Once it's tested and operational, it's really going to open up some exploring opportunities for you guys. Congratulations again!
