Most likely the "Poisonous Gas" sign is meant to scare off potential explorers. Interesting for sure though, I live fairly close to the mine and still haven't been up to the actual mine/mill due to lots of stories about people getting run off. It wouldn't hurt to take an O2 meter in, that's the only thing you would need to monitor under these mountains.
