    Forum Rules and Regulations

    Welcome To Mojave Underground!

Failure to follow these rules can result in your posts being moved, locked or deleted, and may result in your posting privileges being removed.

    Locations
Please do not share exact coordinates of mine sites. Share photos, trip reports, stories and experiences, but please keep the location vague. Feel free to ask via a private message for coordinates. It's up to the original author to share, and if they don't want to share, please respect their wishes.

    Inappropriate Content
This forum is intended to be usable by people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Posts containing profanity, obscenity, insults, personal attacks, accusations, asking others to donate to you or abusive language will be locked, deleted and can result in a warning, suspension or a ban.

Racial, religious or sexual slurs will result in immediate banning.

    No Flaming
This includes any kind of personal attack, flame, targeted harassment or intimidation either by board posts or private messages.

"But he flamed me first!" is NOT an acceptable reason to insult another poster. A flame war is a flame war, and it doesn't matter who started it. If you have concerns about the treatment you are receiving at the hands of another poster, don't respond in kind; notify a moderator.

Many arguments cannot be won, and simply end up scrolling all the other posts off the boards. When disagreements resort to "Since you seem to be slow, let me repeat my points for the tenth time..." then it's a sign that the argument is going nowhere, and the thread will be locked. Agree to disagree.

    Stay on topic
If you're posting anywhere, don't start talking about your favorite food - we've set up different forums so that all the posts in one area are relevant to specific aspects of exploring. If you want to talk about the weather or such, use the Off Topic forum.

    No spamming
Spamming includes posting the same post multiple times in a forum, repeatedly posting on the same topic in different threads, or posting the same post in multiple forums. If you post in a topic and you just realized you have missed something; use the edit feature.

    No thread bumping
Posting messages with irrelevant content for the sole purpose of keeping certain posts near the top is called "bumping". This causes other posts to scroll off the page faster than they should. If you would like to bump a thread, do so with additional pertinent content that benefits the thread. Don't just say Bump!

If you think of something you'd like to add to a post after making it, we recommend using the Edit Post button instead of making an additional post. Posts can be edited up to 72 hours after the initial post.

    Signatures
Signatures may NOT contain external references to third party sites without providing reason to an Administrator prior to creating such signatures. Failure to comply with this policy will result in the signature being modified by an administrator, or eventual banning of the account.

    Reporting Posts
Should you spot a post you feel requires the attention of a moderator or administrator you can report it sending a PM to a moderator or administrator. Please be aware that while this forum is moderated regularly it may not always be possible to address posts that require moderation immediately, however all problem posts will be dealt with.

    Editing Posts
Posts can be edited by the original author up to 72 hours after the post is made. Please be mindful of your posts. Contact an administrator if you need to edit a post after the 72 hour period.

    Personal messages
This message board allows users to send personal messages to one another through an enclosed system. While this means that while no other public user will be able to read the contents of your message all PMs are subject to the same moderation as the rest of the forum.

Sending offensive personal messages to someone through our boards system can be considered harassment or a personal attack and will be subject to the same discipline as posts made on the regular forums. If you receive a Personal Message and it makes you feel in any way uncomfortable, tell an Admin immediately.

    Social Media
By posting to threads, or creating your own thread, you agree that Mojave Underground may use your post in any social media website. This includes Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, and others. Mojave Underground may use your post or threads for advertisement, education, financial gain, or any other purpose Mojave Underground deems necessary.

    Moderators
Any volunteer moderators (either currently or in the future) on these boards are not employees of Mojave Underground and their personal opinions may not necessarily reflect the views of Mojave Underground. We reserve the right for volunteer moderators to perform any of their allowed actions at any time, noting that there may be occasions when their responses are not necessarily correct. If you believe you have been unjustly treated by a forum moderator, based against the rules and regulations of our boards, please contact an admin.

    Administrators
There are several users who are referred to as Mojave Underground Admins. This indicates that they are employees of Mojave Underground and responsible for the upkeep of the website, forums and community. The admins of this board reserve the right to remove any user or posts from these boards without notice.
The Administrators, unless otherwise posted, are in charge of leading events based in the forum. Do not try to take assumptions of control. If providing any event centric information, please check with an Administrator first. Assuming control will lead to User Probation and eventual deletion of your account. The Administrators reserve the right to ban, disable, or delete any user account for any reason, at any time, with or without informing the user of the reason for suspension/deletion.
Administrators may be contacted via private message or contact@mojaveunderground.com
