Episode 5: Standardville

This week we visit the remains of one of Utah's prettiest little ghost towns. Resting in the heart of Spring Canyon, Standardville is a testament to the hard work and pride that 550 residents put into building a lasting legacy that still stands today. Follow Stuart as he explores impressive structures from the Standard Coal Company Mine to the bath house and all the way down to the nearly 50' tall tipple.

That is honestly one killer video. I really like how you did the "present" and "before" status of the hopper structure that fed the coal to the train cars. Cool to see how it used to look. Really good flow as well when you climbed off of that thing and resumed speaking without seeming scripted at all. You come across as enthusiastic, but not overly so to the point that it would be overkill. The music selection in the background really amplified and was appropriate to the ghost town feeling. The research you guys did for this video is outstanding. I would honestly be proud to show this video to anyone, and will do so. Great work.

I liked this video. it seems the more you make the more comfortable you are doing it, so it doesn’t seem so awkward.
I want to try to make it out there to Standardville and Rains this summer.

I really enjoyed the latest episode of your series.

Have you considered presenting some of your episodes to one of your local TV channels as a show concept? We used to have a Sunday morning outdoor show here in Vegas as part of their "public interest" programming. Your on-screen presence continues to develop and appear comfortable in front of the camera. You seem to have a natural knack for it! Regardless of what your future plans are, I've really enjoyed the ones that you have done so far.

Thanks for the compliments! Its good to see our hard work being enjoyed by others, that is after all what makes it worth the effort.

I have considered presenting them as a potential TV show for local TV. I'd like to do that as soon as I get a few more episodes under my belt and really get things streamlined. I also think it would be easier to make the sell and get some funding if we had more weekly subscribed viewers to prove that it is a popular series. I think I may have a hard time if I say, "Our latest episode has had 46 views."
