    Desert Bighorn Sheep

Our Dutch Oven club had our annual Thanksgiving camp out this past weekend out at Lake Mead. On the way in Friday afternoon I saw a herd of about 8 bighorn sheep. Unfortunately I couldn't get off the road to get pictures. When I was leaving this morning three sheep were right on the edge of the road. I took photos until they moved down into a gully and out of sight. I thought you might enjoy these.

I may be wrong, but I thought that in Utah at least, hunting big-horn sheep is a tag draw that is supposed to be once in a lifetime.

Nice pictures, rare to have them so close to human activity.

I was surprised at how calm they were. I was concerned that seeing a human silhouette would spook them so I shot the photos out the window rather than getting out of the truck. These three took their time walking along the side of the road. Occasionally they would stop and look at me giving me the opportunity to get some nice shots.
