Like the little "chip-in" thing says: As soon as the money is there, they'll do the upgrade.

...and yes, the acidman has chipped in.

Hehe, come on Kiel don't you just love the outdated functionality?

The software isn't cheap, but we are almost half way there! Thanks to everyone who has contributed toward the upgrade. For more information about vBulletin and the upgrade check out: https://www.vbulletin.com/order/

vBulletin is definitely the way to go. I've worked forum administration with that software before and the overall admin and layout and navigation is fantastic! Definitely a hop, skip and a jump in the right direction.

I'm not really in the mood to ************************* about the current forum though, I figure this far it's mostly been time and money donated right out of your guy's own pockets, and I love the activity and content of this site; I really appreciate everything you guys have done here with MU so far.
It's easy for any random person to say the place sucks, but unless they're gonna donate the full amount to upgrade it and set it all up, it's really not a fair assessment to make.

I'll see if I can scrape together some $$ for a donation, but I'm looking at several thousands of dollars of medical bills right now with no insurance, so we'll see =(

Keep up the good work guys!
          Herpin' so hard I'm derpin'.

No offense to any people here on the MU forums. I understand the the chip in thing, I can just see that Mojave underground site could be so much better, and even get more people involved in the cause if we had a common setup like v bulletin.

No offense was taken. I've got a 49ers message board that I run that's on vBulletin - unfortunately I'm a techno-IDIOT, so I don't know how to do the upgrades. I'm several versions behind the times right now. I've actually considered saving my money and shutting it down due to extreme lack of traffic - mainly because the 49ers have been so frackin' PATHETIC for the last eight seasons or more. LOL

I'd love to see this site on vBulletin, because it's a great format for a message board.

Well Kiel you'd be surprised at the hundreds and hundreds of hours already poured into the existing site - not including the out-of-pocket expenses mentioned previously. Obviously we are looking to upgrade the site - and we greatly appreciate your donation!

I sure hope when you guys upgrade it doesnt knock everything off so Win2000 no longer works on the site
Personally, i like how the site already is since im already used to the layouts and stuff.

Actually, the features we'll be implementing into the new forums require IE7 at a minimum and some even use IE9/FF4 extensions. Since Windows 2000 only supports IE6, you'll likely won't have the full experience other users will. Win2000 is almost 12 years old - I'd greatly recommend upgrading

Make sure your comfortable with vB and its own little caveats, there are several larger forums moving from vB to other formats because of issues with v4, customer service, etc. That said I'm a big vB fan, its easy to navigate, search, admin, moderate, etc. I think for the vast majority it works the best.

                      Is there a donation link?
