    Kennecott Mine

This Wednesday (yes Halloween) Stuart and I are going to
visit the Kennecott mine. I know it's short notice but the
visitors' center is closing on Nov. 4 so time is limited and
it's the only day we both have off.
We'll probably will be going in the morning around 10, 11
so if you're interested in coming with us let us know ASAP! (reply or PM)
We have room for 4 more max. If you come bring two dollars (fee and gas)
    and your camera!
Come see the LARGEST open pit mine in the WORLD!!
(sure you've "seen" it everyday but have you ever been there??)

The kennecot mine is amazing. I went there with the Earth Science department at UVSC.

        Kennecott

Yes it is incredible how big it is!
It will be very interesting to see what they do with it when the current areas they are working run out. According to their visitors center they are considering tunneling underneath the current mine and extracting ore that way. Cool place though, I want to go again next summer.
I am currently taking a GEO class at UVSC, its a pretty good class. I'm learning a lot about what I see when I'm out exploring. Ryan are you currently taking any GEO classes at UVSC?
