Our group just did the Columbia #2 on our last trip to Tecopa. That doesn't mean we can't split in to multiple groups (which actually might not be a bad idea considering the number of people).
The lower levels of the Columbia are relatively straightforward to access. Getting there involves descending two ladderways. It can be done without ropes but I personally wouldn't recommend it. One is about 120 feet and the other is about 150 feet. From there, you have to navigate down through some stopes, ladders and levels that are a bit jumbled.
Figure it taking between eight and twelve hours.
Can we go yet? I'm sick of waiting!
