Anything that provides good head protection will do, preferably OSHA or MSHA approved. From your posts and private conversations we have had so far, it looks like you may just want to go out and buy a good climbing helmet. They are lightweight, low profile, provide clips for a headlamp, and they are relatively cheap. Entry level climbing/spelunking helmets will run you about $60 bucks and will last you many years. I recommend the Camp Armors or Black Diamond half dome helmets for their price and comfort.

If nobody has a vehicle available, technically I can legally shove ya'll into the back of my truck. Up to you. It would be long and cold, but doable.
