Snowbird to blast the Globe Mine this week?

    Just got this email:
I just got news that Snowbird as part of their mine reclamation project plans on blowing up the entrance to the famous Globe Mine. This is a great mine to explore and it will be a shame to lose it. They also are planing on making the road up to Mary Ellen inaccessible. I don't know if anyone can stop this but maybe you do.
    Thanks

Any news on this is appreciated, Im also considering, worst case, driving up to the site and sitting on top of it to protest the action. Seems that they dont think they need to adhere to sec. 106 or the NEPA direction.... Anyone else interested? Im going to call and swing by the corp office tomorrow and find out whats going on.

Globe Mine group patent from 1927

The Globe Mine group was patented by the Globe Consolidated Mining Company in 1927, and were adjacent to the Live Yankee group of mine claims. They were lode claims located in the American Fork Mining District.

From the BLM Utah landrecords website, this patent was issued to the Globe Consolidated Mining Company in 1927 for its lode mining claims in the American Fork Mining District. The claims lie adjacent to the Live Yankee mine in Mary Ellen Gulch. The description in the patent describes how to find the endlines and four corners of the claims, as well as the discovery location for each claim.

Great document, thanks for sharing that!

The Globe and Live Yankee actually connected according to the early maps I have of the Live Yankee workings However as of late, I'm yet to find the connection.

Russ, you have some amazing documents... Its funny I was actually searching for stuff before my association to MojaveUnderground and came across some documents that had been uploaded by you. Small world
