Just wanted to say hello

Hi all, My name is Mike and I am sure glad I found this place, I was googleing a place and found this site. I have been exploring mines on my own for over 30 yrs. and sure enjoy it. I am a gold prospector (Placer mostly) and have been in quite a few old mines. I like to know the history of mines I visit and I am always looking for a new one to visit. The best one so far was the Big Horn mine. I have watched it open and close 3 times in the last 30 + years and last year they sealed it shut. I have been looking around here and you sure have a nice site with a lot of like minded people.

If you are from Santa Clarita, I understand why you are a gold prospector.

San Fransisquito Canyon was the sight of CA's first gold rush which predated the Mother Lode by a good 6 years. I have been to the Big Horn as well years ago and also to the Stanley-Miller.
