    GoPro mounting clips

Has anyone else had trouble with the two legs of the GoPro cam mounting clips breaking?

I was trying like crazy to be very gentle, sliding them in and out of the mounting plate on my helmet, but one snapped, then the other.
I'm putting in an order for about 6 more, to have a few in reserve.

Other than the helmet mounting plates, have you guys tried other mounting options?
Like, chest mounting, some other way of helmet mounting?

Here's how mine is set up:
    Herpin' so hard I'm derpin'.

We haven't had any trouble with our clips breaking, but we have had quite a bit of trouble with losing the nuts that attach the camera to the mount. We have lost a few of them so far.

Go Pro is actually a sponsor of Mojave Underground and they have been generous enough to send us ALL of the different mounts that they offer. So far though we have only tested the helmet mounts since that is most convenient for mine exploring. I'm sure as we do more projects we will try some of the other mounts.

Great! You can send me a few spares!

J/K. But I talked to the people at GoPro and they basically said that they haven't heard of problems with the clips either, then said it might have been a bad run of plastic, or that I'm just not being carefull enough. As though I hadn't made it clear that I was in fact being quite ginger with them, especially after the first leg broke.

I suggested they could send me a replacement for it, and the guy just said that they don't do that, and that I'd have to place an order for a new one.
After hearing from so many people how much stuff they give away for tests and trials and just general good-will for their products, I was kinda peeved!

I still haven't gotten around to ordering a few. I'm worried they're gonna cost like $5 each or something ridiculous like that. Except I can't use my cam in the meantime cuz I can't mount it. *shrugs*
I think I need to order a replacement wide-angle lense for my housing as well; managed to scratch mine somehow.

I still can't decide if I like the wide-angle version I have, or if I should try the one with the normal field of view. Do you use wide-angle or normal, and do you use normal quality or HD?
