Hi all,
After checking out some beautiful cave photos, I noticed that a lot of the photographs are done using multiple flashes. I'm considering purchasing some older "dumb" flashes on ebay and using a remote trigger for them. That would allow me to light up much larger areas than I can with my little "on camera" flash and I could do it a much smaller budget than purchasing the high dollar TTL flashes that Nikon offers.
My question is two-fold: First, are any of you using multiple off camera flashes. Second, what are you using for the trigger?
The Firefly remote slave trigger looks like the Cat's Meow, but at $75 apiece for the "cheap" one, that gets expensive fast. I found a system that uses RF to trigger up to 3 flashes at around $50. I just worry that the RF might not be up to the job in a cave. Does anyone have experience with this?
As always, thanks for your input and advice!
Joanne
