Nah. That's just the Texan in me.

And my Mac Pro is pretty uber.

2 X Dual core 2.66GHz Intel Xeon CPUs
    4GB of DDR2 RAM
    1TB Storage - 250GB for boot, 3X250 in RAID0 for storage
    nVidia 7300GS video card
    Dual gigabit ethernet, bluetooth 2.0.
    Optical in/out
    dual dvd burner.

This machine can rip 2 dvd's simultaneously to H.264 at twice realtime. (65 or so FPS on average)

      nVidia 7300GS video card ?

Thats like 4 years old! Are you serious!?! Modern integrated graphics will destroy that card!

I can rip an entire DVD on my video card in less than 10 minutes to H.264 using my 112 processors each running at 1.65GHz on my 9800M GTX using the CUDA platform.

      My laptop:
      Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.5GHz
      4GB DDR3 1066 @ CAS 5
      320GB 7200 RPM Boot, 640GB RAID 0 e-sata
      9800M GTX 1GB 112-shader video @ 550 gflops/sec

And thats all that really matters. I think my lappy could outright beat your mac pro in a lot of tests! In true multithreaded apps, your processors would win, but outside that, I've got you beat!

My laptop also caries a .45ACP to defend itself against criminal macs. It is also very racist.

The computer's almost 3 years old. I'm not a PC gamer, so graphics card is the least of my worries.

Well with CUDA taking a huge jump in pro apps, a powerful video card is becoming very useful. I use mine for more than games. I run Photoshop, video rendering, encoding, simulation, etc, in a massively parallel environment, accelerating applications 10-15x faster than even the fastest Oct-core skulltrail platforms.

I'm using an older set of software that isn't able to use all that, so it's still rather useless to buy a newer card.

Back to the original topic....No matter what you use to back up your pictures always back them up to two different places in case one backup method fails.
