Macro Photos from Ophir

I've posted some Macro shots of some of the rocks we pulled from Ophir hill and another mine in the Ophir District.

My method of ultra macro lenses provided super close up shots, but many of them are blurry due to the optics. The idea still gets put across through

What method are you using?

[Mike]

I've got a 20x magnifier for rock study that I"ve got held up to the lens. Its tough become a fraction of a millimeter forward or back changes the focus completely. So getting a sharp image is tough that way.

So what ratio to lifesize do you figure that this gives you?

[Mike]

Well depending on the placement from the lens to the subject, anywhere from 1/2mm to 2mm across the entire photo. Kinda fun!

Cool Mike. I do have a 100mm Macro lens if you ever wanted to try it out with some samples.

I might have to take you up on that sometime! That 18-55mm is decent, but a 100mm macro would be great!
