    4-11-2008 Copper River

Photo was taking inside the Ophir Hill Mine. This little copper river is actually a spring, as there was no drip flow from above. High amounts of copper are slowly deposited overtime and left behind and the water washes away. When copper is oxidized, it turns blue, teal, or green, depending on the type of copper and it's environment. There is also a fair amount of calcite, creating the lighter color scheme.

This area of the mine is really cool. The water has formed quite a few little formations like this.
