    NiteCore HC90 Headlamp

Has anyone else used this particular headlamp?

    HC90

    Overall Review:
The shape of the head lamp fits comfortably on the forehead, however after an hour or two of wearing you start to feel the weight of the headlamp. The headlamp itself is able to rotate up and down, which is convenient. The yellow slide bar makes adjusting light output and switching colors easy. As easy and convenient as the slide bar is, it can accidentally be turned on, draining the battery. There is no lock on the bar to keep it in place or secure off switch. To me, this alone makes the headlamp unreliable. The off switch is in the middle of the bar, making it easy to leave the light on the lowest setting without being noticed.
The multi colored lights are great for around the campfire and making certain objects more or less visible.

    Underground Review:
Great throw of light, easy to reduce brightness, and fits well on a caving helmet. The beam is broad enough to see immediate surrounds. Has a turbo high beam at 900 lumens, which is good to see vast, open areas. The lowest setting at.2 lumens is just barely enough light to see around you but it will last 200 hours making it good for emergency situations. The waterproof aspect of the light is great, especially when exploring damp/wet mines and caves. This headlamp is perfect for those who are looking for a light that will give them more detail of the rock around them. Being able to fine turn the brightness of the light makes it easier to see the finer details in the rock without blinding yourself with the reflection. It also makes it easier to take photos with just a 'point and shoot' camera.

    Favorite Features:
    Multi-colored lights
    Slider bar for precis lighting
    Waterproof
    Rechargable

    Dislikes:
    Slider bar easily turns on

    Conclusion:

Solid, durable light. Keep an eye on the slider bar to make sure light does not turn on unintentionally. With a blasting power of 900 -.2 lumens, this headlamp has many applications. Great for underground exploration with its wide beam and just as good for camping. Be sure to charge this light the day before/of use, as the battery does not seem to hold a charge. Construction feels like it's made to last.
