    Mines in the Darwin area

As promised here are some inside photos from these mines. I'm trying to head back this year if anyone is interested. I want to explore much more. what you see here was just on the first 2 levels. And there over 9 levels with connections to multiple mines.

I'd say I'm fat and out of shape, but, "round" is a shape...

Wow, that is amazing. I have been hearing stories about this mine for about a year now. I would love to get in there for a couple of days! The waste piles outside are massive!!

More pics as promised. That elevator shaft was 900 ft deep according to the depth guage. We went down 2 more levels, each level about 100ft apart. Again this place is massive.

Wow, what a monster! I love those signs, "HAVE YOU WASHED YOUR HANDS BEFORE EATING" great stuff to find down in a mine! It means not that many people have been down in them.

Yeah the company closed them down and left EVERYTHING. They are holding onto the claim because supposedly they are still sitting on tons of ore. They are just waiting for the price to go up to make mining there profitable again. I don't think anyone has been in them for years.

Cool pics! It must be a really dry mine because all the wood is in such great shape. Thanks for sharing.

Video was the interesting bit for me, underground structure looks amazing, pockets of mine workings connected with one long tunnel seemingly heading off on its own?. Maybe the 6000' Anaconda extension?

Main haulage tunnel is called the Radiore tunnel and is over 8000ft long connecting all the major workings. Its entry/exit point is the big locked steel doors right in downtown Darwin.
