The Mojave Underground MMT recently led an expedition to the Gold Hill Mine, near Gold Hill Utah. We began our trip driving out to the lively town of Wendover and met together in the Peppermill hotel. We all discussed mines in the area and determined to make Gold Hill our destination for the trip. The next morning, we began the hour long drive out to the mines.
On the way out, we were met by a thick, heavy fog that blanketed the entire valley. We stopped for pictures before disappearing into the dense fog. We followed a heavy snow covered and steep trail up to the mines before gearing up and heading into the mine.
We split into two groups, one entering the upper entrance and one entering the lower entrance. Each group discovered historical remains, minerals, and found amazing structural relics.
