Awesome pics. Thanks for sharing. It never ceases to amaze me what the old boys did with so little compared to todays standard. I have only been exploring old mines since March of last year. I was kinda interested in this exploring until I ran into Stuart and Crystal at the Beck mine at Tintic while they were filming the mine safety video. They got me really excited about the old mining. Funny pic with the animal. I was up above the iron blossom at Tintic one day and came across a 15ft prospect shaft that had a sheep and her lamb that had fallen in the hole. The mother had died but I got the young one out and gave it to a sheep herder in the area. Makes you wonder how many animals have fallen to their death in those deep holes.

          Thanks!!

I know I got by with very little in the way of gear, when I was younger. But I certainly didn't drop any 300ft holes with no other way out. And most of the stuff, looking back, would be stupid to do today; knowing what I know now, and having the training, experience, and gear.

That's cool that you did that with the lamb. Nice gesture of good humanity. I'd have prolly had lamb for dinner. lol. j/p (kinda)

It never fails to amaze me where we see mice sometimes. Hardy little buggers, good climbers too!

What was the animal? Looked to be a dog or something.

Is there a way to view the pics without joining Facebook?

.... You should be able to view them anyway, yes. Are you not able to see them? They're set to publicly viewable. You shouldn't even be able to see the rest of my account in that link, just the album with the pictures.

I had thought anyone was able to see them...

I guess I could load all 187 of them to somewhere else.... Photobucket maybe. It took me 20 mins just to upload those.

I’d like to see these photo’s. But the link goes to the login page. Any fixes?
Some Face book links have worked but not this one.

And I refuse to play by someone else’s rules like Facebook Myspace etc. MU is very ok based on our common interests. But the social networking deal is not for me.
So I built my own page to share my mining videos, pics and stuff. No adds. Just mining stuff. Around $40 year plus 2 other sites.

And on photos it helps if you resize. I have found if you go with 4” x 4” , 100 pixels / inch they look good and load in a reasonable time. If I’m wrong correct me.

BTW a 20 min upload is nothing. It took me hours to upload my King David Mine Video. That was just one video.

                      Thanks,

                      Danb

                          Therrin,

THANK YOU for the re-post of the photos! They are FANTASTIC!!

If it's too much work, just leave them on Facebook...if someone wants to view them badly enough, they'll sign up or log in. But I appreciate you putting them on Photobucket for us non-social media types.

                            Therrin,

Thank you for the pics and your time to post them, I was able to view them before they went down.

                            What a cool adventure.

There's usually a link at the bottom of albums on Facebook that allows non-members and such to see the pics...

...unless I'm remembering incorrectly, which is entirely possible. LOL
I'd say I'm fat and out of shape, but, "round" is a shape...
