      The mines in that area are not abandoned. Tom Miller owns the Vipont but there are many other owners up there. There are innumerable holes in the ground in the area and it really is not safe to just go looking around. My puppy fell down one shaft just jumping over sage brush. My dad, not Tom Miller, closed the entrances to ours but not everyone has done that. Many are just unknown since the area was quite heavily explored.

        Good to know! I've been up there and looked at a couple of holes, but they were all very flooded and muddy.

        A better area to explore around would be down in the Grouse Creeks and around the Devils Playground there are some interesting mines.
