    Some Spare Self Rescuers

    Hey guys,

Dan over here from ABM all the way across the USA. How has everyone been? I love your forum and website.

So we managed to get our hands on some CSE Self Rescuer's. These units allow you to breath for 60 minutes in environments with toxic air. We have recently been exploring coal mines and have made this mandatory equipment for all of us. They retail for close to $800 dollars but we got them for a bargain. We may have a few to spare and were wondering if any of you were interested in them.

In case you want more information, google CSE Self Rescuer, or go here: http://www.csecorporation.com/.

    Happy Mining and Merry Christmas.

What kind of bargain are we talking about? This would be the SR-100 correct?

That does sound like quite a bargain. Let us know what the final price ends up being, we may be able to scrape together enough funds to buy one.

Hey guys, we should be picking them up in another few weeks. These are brand new in the box, with belt strap. The SR100's are about 1 year old, but they have a 10 year shelf life. Here is a good video from the MSHA on how to care and use the SR100's

We are getting a big order of 10 or so, and should have 2 or 3 spares. This is official miner equipment issued to miners working underground today. We are getting them from an electric company which has overstock.

Ill let you know the final price but I really dont think it will be less then $450.

We are making it mandatory to use if going underground with our crew.

I thought rebreathers (isnt that what this is classified as?) could last alot longer than an hour? Tanks I know dont last long at all, especialy for their weight and are more dangerous. Is it because of its size (couldnt find any of that info) or because it has to meet the standards and be able to filter more than just the co2 out (or does it since its just cycling your breath?).

Are these re-usable? Can you refill them with that chemical for pretty cheap like with some of the much much larget re-breathers divers use?

They are not reusable, one time use only. You use it when your azz is on the line and its life or death. Here is a good video from MSHA on how to care and use for the SR100.
