Amazon Mine

Greetings,
So Miah and I went on a whirl wind tour of Logan Canyon, up into Idaho, down into Wyoming, over to Park City, and down into Brighton. It was a great trip. I do have a question. I wanted to show Miah the Amazon Mine in Logan Canyon and it's been closed by the DOGM. It looks recent. Has anyone heard anything about this or know when the gate was placed? I was pretty ticked when I saw it. It's a pretty neat mine with a cave inside.

Initial searches indicate that USFS may have done the sealing with DOGM **assistance**. DOGM doesn't have any posted records indicating they bid this out. However, it is highly likely USFS sealed it to protect bat habitats in area...Rich Sherwin has a resume online that brags about being a part of a logan cave closure...
