    Diamond Queen Mine, Beatty Nevada

A few years back a friend and I grabbed our cameras, jumped on the dual sports and headed north towards Beatty with the intent of photographing this mine then continuing north to Rhyolite for more photos. This mine is interesting because of the old structures around the site. I did not explore underground though now I wish I would have!

One interesting fact about this mine is that it's on the opposite side of the mountain from the Gold Ace and most likely was working the same lode. There's enough equipment and structure around the site that I suspect that there is a reasonably large mine.

    The mine site is at:
    36°50'16.61" N
    116°38'13.55" W

      Mark,

I don't know if they are smart enough to know better or if they just haven't thought about it yet.... I'm hoping it's the first. I can certainly understand putting a fence around a shaft to keep someone from accidentally falling in, but dozing everything closed just doesn't make sense to me. Of course I'm not telling you guys anything new!!

Yes, I have more photos that I'll post as I get time. This week I'm getting ready to head to the North Rim with a friend from work for a couple days of camping and photography.
