    Next Adventure?

I need to get back in the deep dirt again. It's long over due. When is the next adventure planned?

Don't know...needs to be soon, but on the plus side I finally got one of the nifty suits that the cool guys are wearing these days. Now just to find flashlights that meet my strict quality requirements. I realized that maglights will be a pain to mount to a hard hat with zip ties because of the metal construction.

Well we are celebrating New Year's Eve inside the Ophir Hill mine. You are welcome to join us. I plan on doing some good exploration on New Year's Day. This is the next mine trip. After that we plan on going somewhere south to explore.

      Hope you will join us!

That sounds awesome! I'm usually sitting at home on my butt on new years.

I just may do this and bring my girlfriend. This would be her first outing, and I'm happy that she is actually excited to dive into this hobby of mine. We're on our way to REI to go helmet shopping

Sounds great, bring her along. We plan on doing quite a bit of exploring while we are camping in there. Probably head up into the Miners Delight and Wild Delirium sections. Lots of minerals and artifacts to be seen.

All right Josh, that last part just made me cringe :P

Support a shop that doesn't support trail closures. There is a cool climbing store on 33rd near the REI that has a decent selection and was really cool in our talking about mine exploration.

Haha... so much to learn. I did not know this. REI is greek to me, only been there twice. I'll add them to my shit list

Glad you're around to watch my back when I do these dumb things that I do.

                  What store is it?

                    Kurt and RedRock:
Is the climbing store near 33rd [3160 S State Street] Recreation Outlet? I recall they have a nice section of their store devoted to climbing and quite a few bargains throughout the store...and the cashier actually knew what I was talking about when I chatted up the Ophir Hill area..

Rec Outlet is a great store too, and the owners son (manager there) is a 4WD guy himself, so he's by no means anti-motorized.

The one I was thinking of was IME: http://www.imeutah.com/
