So what is the protocol for posting a trip? Just curious. Do I post it in the appropriate sections? Or is there a trip page already setup? (maybe the calendar?)

Good question - perhaps Mike has some tips on that - he usually posts group-wide stuff on the main page. You can always start a new topic for a trip, that's an easy way too. I have never used the calendar...

If you want to post a trip, create a new topic under the News section on the forum: http://mojaveunderground.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=11
This way it will be on the forum landing page and will be easy to view by everyone. You can also add it to the calendar if you want, or we will add it for you.
