It's been wayyy too quiet around here. Maybe we can stir things up a bit by starting a photo thread.
I'll go ahead and start.
Ok, this is from a large mine a couple of hours north of Vegas. The adit looked completely collapsed but we climbed over the top of the portal and found our way in. A hundred feet in we came to a collapse and thought that was the end of it. Chris (a New Jersey explorer) and I decided to see if we could dig out a little bit to see if it would go. Sure enough it opened into some great workings and we found a shaft that connected to the main lower section of the mine. WIN!
This squeeze was found at the bottom of an inclined shaft. Over time rain water had found its way down carrying lots of debris filling the drift within two inches of the top. We returned with a shovel and spent a couple of hours digging our way in.
This is taken from the inclined shaft into the drift.
This is Tony working his way into the drift from the incline. You can see how much we had to dig to get in.
The drift continues about 50 feet, split into two drifts each ending within another 50 feet. FAIL!
Post up your best "squeeze" shots.
Joanne
