Grantsville area mines

Hit up the grantsville area a couple years back. Nothing to exciting but a neat tram or power line system and some funny spray paint sayings at dead ends.

Kiel - These mines are near Grantsville and are open? I would love to check them out. You have the approximate location?

West of grantsville. Just drive up every canyon, lots of small prospects out there

There are other open mines up that way as well. The Lead Queen is open, though it's a fun and steep hike. Also, the Monte Carlo is open, and the drive up to it is fun.

Is the Monte Carlo worth visiting? I've heard it mentioned but no details.

I thought the monte cristo had to be driven to by motorcycle or atv. Its accessed by a atv/ horse trail

The Monte Carlo isn't anything that special. The mine goes in less than 500'. The trail heading up is fun though. I did it on an ATV. I don't remember if a jeep could do it or not.
