Lion Hill Exploring This Weekend (20th Aug)

Hey all,
I'm going to be up Lion Hill area this weekend exploring a few of the mines up there. Meeting at the mouth of Ophir Canyon at 11PM Saturday afternoon. I plan on camping at the Buffalo Saturday night for those who want to camp.

The road to Lion Hill requires 4x4 and clearance. I have a few seats in my truck if anybody needs rides.

What is the exploration difficulty?

Pretty easy. No ropes or anything. Lots of hiking and climbing around though.

Hey are you going to explore the Buckhorn tram house? Is this the area your going to look into. I would like to hike up to that.
By the way I'm new to the forum but not mine exploration. I go out when I can.

Welcome to the forum lilbro. Glad to have a new explorer on board.

We'll be on the south side of Ophir Canyon from where the Buckhorn tram house is and won't be visiting anything remotely near the buckhorn on this trip. We may do a future trip up there though, its a beautiful area.

Hey Mike, It was great meeting up with you guys and going in to the mine. Gotta get me a helmet though. lol We went into the Chloride Point mine but didn't go in very far. I'm thinkin that one need some directions, at least for me.
