Road trip, Febuary 5-8th

Well folks, gas prices are the lowest I have seen them in a very long time and I am itching to take a road trip to visit some new mines. I am opening this thread up to discussion on the when/where and whats. I am thinking it should be somewhere warm.

The official dates for this trip are February 5-8th so put that on your schedule.

My vote is for Arizona. Most of the Grand Canyon is closed still, but Phoenix is a nice area around then, and there are tons of mines and famous ghost towns down there. Got a cowboy uncle there who can show us all the mine sites.

I would be up for anywhere. I'm easy. And those are good times to go for me too. Not much going on up here at the ranch. And I will have a truck that we can drive too. Depending on gas prices. And if anyone is interested we could do a trip out to Great Basin National Park and see some caves. There are more caves in that area than I can count.

My vote is for Nevada. There's tons to see there, including some Anasazi mines by the looks of things, plus if we go there, my girlfriend from Cali might join us.

Now keep in mind, one of the reasons for the road trip is to get out of the cold. We want to stick to the southern ends of AZ and NV.

I didn't say 'main reason', just one of the reasons. And I say it. If I want cold, I'd just stay here! Besides, finding mines and stuff when everything is covered in snow is not too fun.

Good discussion guys. I agree that we should go where the good mines are, but getting out of the cold is a plus +!

The term *************************s is not politically correct anymore, the more appropriate term is "escorts" and yes they have them there in Wells.
