Cherry Creek
Cherry Creek Tooele/Juab Counties, Utah
During much of the year, Cherry Creek is dry. A small reservoir holds much of the water that comes through. The resevoir is full of large trout and love the Mormon crickets in the area. Cherry Creek is a good fishing destination when it is flowing.
By heading further south you can check out the mines and ruins that appeared on some maps in the hills around Cherry Creek. We picked the first decent looking road a few miles south of the reservoir and wandered through the hills until we came across a rock cabin.
There is enough around to explore for several days. The Rockwell Ranch is rumored to be somewhere in the area. We don't know if we found it, but we did find some of the biggest cottonwood trees I've ever seen lined up along a dried up reservoir.
Heavy mining occured at 39.8346° -112.4° @ 6300' just near Cherry Creek and pose potential exploration.
