The Copper Globe Mine is located in the San Rafael Swell, west of Green River.
History
The Copper Globe Mine first opened just prior to 1900. U.S. Commissioner Edward Pike along with two associates worked the mine. In 1902, Pike paid $3000 to construct a 40-mile road to the mine site. The mines operation through WWI and WWII was very sporadic. The mine spent much of its time tied up in court over the ownership of the mines.

Ghost Town
Building from the mining operation still stand. One unique building includes a fully furnished cabin which has surprisingly withstood time, weathering, and vandals. There are several other buildings, including a lodging, what appears to be an office, a foundation, s large wood pile for smelting, and scattered objects once belonging to the miners.
