Mojave Underground was founded just a couple years ago as a few good friends wanted to share the beauty and adventure that is found inside our mountains. We started as just a tiny website, with only a few visitors per week. Eventually, through advertising by google and word of mouth, people began trickling into our site. We soon began to find that thousands of others shared our similar interest; Exploration of mines, preserving the history of the area, and stopping DOGM from closing everything down permanently. Last June, we had over 153,000 hits to the site, with almost 2,300 unique new visitors, 450 of those being outside the state of Utah. It goes to show how popular these types of adventures are. The DOGM would make it seem that nobody is interested in mines and ghost towns, but we beg to differ. Mojave Underground never really imagined going as far as we have. But with the tremendous efforts of the DOGM shutting our lifestyle down left and right, we've been forced to take every measure possible to prevent any further damage. Mojave Underground is a drug and alcohol free group. We believe in preserving areas of historical value. Vandalism and littering to these sites is not taken kindly and if caught doing any of these things, you will be reported. |
