Budget cuts from the federal Abandoned Mines Lands (AML) program will withhold $718 Million tax dollars from the state of Wyoming over the next decade. Less profit from coal and use of funds for non-mine related expenses has caused the state to reconsider where they will focus efforts for the future.

Mike’s comment is more than a flippant remark.
It is worth lobbying the state of wyoming to STOP mine reclamation.. the mines represent diagnoses, exploratory surgery for future geologists and miners. The morons shutting in..plug and abandon not only cost tax payer money they destroy evidence …valuable information …mines can be reopened or further explored…perhaps the sequestration was a good thing but the fifty million in reserves should be used for mine development in wyoming and not mine destruction.
